What Is Tapee Tea? Ingredients, Formats and Common Questions
Tapee Tea is a Thai herbal drink. The Sirilife product offered by Tranquil Siam has a published 15-ingredient formula led by Jewel Vine and comes in soluble sachets or traditional filter bags. The two formats give you a choice between stirring a serving into water and steeping a bag.

Meet the Sirilife product
The product is officially named Thephi Herbal Drink, Sirilife Brand. It is made by Thai Rice Herb Co., Ltd. in Khon Kaen, Thailand. Our shop uses the more familiar name Tapee Tea, which is also how many customers search for it.
Sirilife’s Thai food serial number is 40-2-02861-6-0027. You can match that number to the official product record. The registration identifies the food product; it does not approve the drink as a medical treatment.
When comparing a packet with an online listing, look for Sirilife and Thephi as well as the familiar Tapee Tea name. Those details help you recognise the product. Check the format too: powder sachets and filter bags have different preparation methods and pack quantities.
What goes into the blend?
The published profile lists Jewel Vine at 65% by weight. Fourteen other ingredients make up the remaining 35%, including familiar spices such as star anise, cinnamon, nutmeg, turmeric, clove and cardamom, alongside other botanical ingredients.
This is a multi-herb drink rather than black or green tea with an added flavour. The formula brings together roots, fruit, bark and other plant parts. Familiar spices help introduce the blend, while the larger Jewel Vine component is explained in the ingredient guide.
Star anise is listed at 4.5%. Bael fruit, Chaplu, nutmeg and cinnamon are each listed at 3.5%. Black galingale, astragalus and turmeric are each 2.5%, while the remaining six entries are 1.5% each.
Our full ingredient guide explains every entry, including less familiar names such as Chaplu and black galingale. It also shows the manufacturer’s profile. Start there if you want to understand a particular ingredient or need the complete list to check suitability before buying.

Soluble sachets or filter bags?
The current soluble retail pack contains 25 individual 3 g sachets. Open an individual sachet and empty its contents into the cup, then add hot water and stir. There is no intact filter bag to remove at the end.
The current tea-bag retail pack contains 30 individual filter bags. Keep the filter intact, put it into the cup and steep before removing it. This is the more familiar format if you enjoy making a cup with a tea bag.
Two soluble packs contain 50 sachets, while two tea-bag packs contain 60 bags. The product options show the total individual servings for every multipack, making the quantities easy to compare.
Choose by preparation style: open and stir a soluble sachet, or steep and remove a filter bag. Neither format is presented as stronger; the difference is how you make the drink and how many servings come in a retail pack.
- Soluble sachets
- 25 × 3 g per current retail pack · open and stir.
- Filter bags
- 30 bags per current retail pack · steep and remove.
Preparing your first cup
The pictured Sirilife directions use 200 ml of hot water and a 2–5 minute standing period. For the soluble serving, stir the contents into the water. For the filter-bag format, steep the intact bag, then remove it before drinking.
You can see both labels in the preparation guide. They specify hot water and a 2–5 minute standing time, without a precise temperature. Use the directions on your current pack if they differ, then allow the drink to cool comfortably before sipping.
Taste the first cup plain, then try a little honey if you prefer it sweeter. For a brighter finish, add a few drops of lemon or lime. Start with a small addition and taste again so the extra flavour complements the blend rather than covering it.
One Tranquil Siam customer wrote that the flavour had grown on them after initially feeling unsure about herbal tea. For a first pack, try the drink plain and then with one simple serving variation. Our review summary includes that comment and the other customers’ feedback.

Benefits and the questions people ask
Many people find Tapee Tea while searching for help with pain. Researchers have studied Derris scandens and turmeric, two plants in the blend, but those studies used specific extracts and products. They did not test the finished 15-ingredient Sirilife drink. Our benefits article explains what the research can and cannot tell us.
In 2023, the US Food and Drug Administration warned about undeclared medicines in a product sold as Tapee Tea. Separate Sirilife laboratory reports recorded no detection of certain steroids in the samples tested. These are different findings, and the later reports do not cancel the FDA warning.
The safety guide explains the notice and practical implications, while the testing guide shows the actual documents and sample details. Read those before choosing the product for a health-related reason.
Find the format that suits you
Soluble sachets offer the quickest open-and-stir method, while filter bags provide a familiar steep-and-remove routine. A smaller first order lets you try the flavour and preparation before buying a larger bundle.
See the current sachet and tea-bag options on our Tapee Tea page. The buying guide compares pack quantities, prices and shipping, helping you choose the format and order size that work best at home.
