Energy: start with the pattern

A few late nights can leave anyone tired. But if you are getting enough sleep and still feel exhausted, it is worth finding out why. Shift work, irregular meals, stress and too little movement can all drain your energy, but a sudden or unexplained change may have another cause.

Start by giving yourself enough time to sleep. CDC guidance recommends at least seven hours for adults aged 18–60. Your own needs may vary, and the quality of your sleep matters too. Notice whether you sleep through the night and wake feeling refreshed.

When work routinely compresses your sleep window, protect a more consistent finish time and bedtime where possible. If you still wake tired after allowing enough time for sleep, speak to a healthcare professional rather than repeatedly pushing through with caffeine.

Loud snoring, waking up gasping or struggling to stay awake during the day can be signs of a sleep problem. Ongoing tiredness can also be linked to health conditions or medicines. A professional assessment can help identify the cause and the appropriate response.

Four concerns, different next steps
Short sleep
Allow enough time for sleep.
Low fitness
Build aerobic activity and strength.
Low libido
Consider desire, stress, relationships and health.
Erection difficulty
Address recurring symptoms and underlying causes.

Build fitness you can sustain

Regular movement supports heart health, strength and everyday stamina. The CDC’s adult activity guidance recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week, plus strength work on two days. You can build towards that from your current level.

A practical example is a brisk 30-minute walk on five days, plus two short strength sessions. If that is too much to begin with, start with shorter walks and increase gradually. Consistency matters more than choosing an impressive programme you abandon after a week.

Strength work can use your own bodyweight, resistance bands or weights. Choose a level that lets you move with control and recover well afterwards. If you are returning after an injury or managing a health condition, ask for help choosing a safe place to start.

Give yourself meals that support your activity as well as satisfying your appetite. Rice with fish or tofu and vegetables is one straightforward combination: protein, a carbohydrate source and produce together. Planning an easy lunch can help on days when work would otherwise push the meal aside.

Libido and erectile function are different

Sex drive and erections are related, but they are not the same thing. You can want sex and still have difficulty getting or keeping an erection. You can also have a low sex drive without an erection problem. Knowing which issue is bothering you makes it easier to find relevant advice.

Stress, relationships, poor sleep, medicines and health conditions can all affect sexual wellbeing. NIDDK’s erectile-dysfunction information also covers physical causes, including problems with blood vessels and nerves. If erection difficulties keep happening, speak to a healthcare professional. It is a health issue, not a personal failure.

There are effective options. Depending on the cause, treatment may include lifestyle changes, talking therapy, medicines or devices. The right choice depends on your health and any medicines you already take.

What ginseng and arginine research shows

Ginseng has been studied for tiredness and sexual function. NCCIH’s research summary reports a possible small benefit for general fatigue. The studies used specific ginseng products, so the result cannot be applied to every supplement that lists ginseng on the label.

For erection difficulties, a Cochrane review found only a small improvement in questionnaire scores. The difference may have been too small for people to notice in everyday life. That is useful context when comparing ginseng with treatments designed for this problem.

L-arginine helps the body make nitric oxide, which is involved in relaxing blood vessels. A 2019 review reported improvement in mild-to-moderate erection difficulties at studied amounts of 1,500–5,000 mg.

Those study amounts matter when comparing a supplement label. A combined capsule may contain much less of one ingredient, alongside several others. Taking extra capsules would increase all of them, so do not increase a combined product to match an arginine amount from a study.

Research ingredients versus LAMBOR
L-arginine trials cited
1,500–5,000 mg in the review.
LAMBOR label
350 mg L-arginine per capsule, among other ingredients.
What this means
Follow the product directions; extra capsules also increase its other ingredients.

What is in LAMBOR?

The LAMBOR panel lists, per 1,120 mg capsule, L-arginine 350 mg, cordyceps powder 200 mg, ginseng powder 150 mg and oyster powder 150 mg. It also lists zinc methionine 60 mg and black galingale powder 50 mg.

The remaining entries are black-pepper extract and fenugreek extract, at 20 mg each. Zinc methionine is a compound containing zinc: the listed 60 mg is the weight of that compound, not 60 mg of zinc itself. This is worth checking if you also take a separate zinc supplement.

Oyster powder makes this product unsuitable for anyone with a shellfish allergy. The pack also says that children and pregnant women should not use it. If you take medicines, show the complete ingredient list to a pharmacist instead of checking only the ingredients you recognise.

You can compare the current packs in our supplements collection. Keep the full ingredient panel in view, especially if you use another supplement containing some of the same ingredients. Follow the product’s directions rather than using the research figures above as a personal dosage.

Choose the next step that fits

If your schedule is cutting sleep short, make more room for rest. If you have become less active, rebuild your fitness gradually. If tiredness or erection difficulties continue, get help with that specific problem so you are not left guessing.

When comparing supplements, match the full ingredient list to the reason you are considering the product. A smaller pack may make more sense for a first order, especially when you are still deciding whether the formula fits your routine.
