Warmth, herbal aroma and a hands-on Thai massage ritual
A Thai herbal compress combines aromatic plant ingredients inside a tightly wrapped cloth ball. Once dampened and warmed, the rounded head can be pressed and rolled over the body while the tied handle keeps your hand away from the heated centre.
Poompuksa’s 200 g size gives the compress a substantial, rounded shape for massage at home. Use it as part of an unhurried evening routine or alongside another person’s shoulder, back, arm, leg or foot massage.
A blend of eight named ingredients
The manufacturer’s product graphic lists lemongrass leaves, turmeric, makrut lime peel, camphor, salt, plai, sompoi leaves and tamarind leaves. Warming the damp compress releases the blend’s characteristic herbal aroma as you work.
The cloth head and long wrapped handle make the product easy to recognise and hold. Each retail box contains one 200 g compress ball.
How to prepare and use the compress
Remove the outer packaging and dampen the compress before heating. Steam it until it is evenly warm, following the directions supplied with the current pack. Test the temperature against your inner forearm before applying it to the body.
Begin with brief, light contact and keep the compress moving. As it cools to a comfortable temperature, you can use slower presses and gentle rolling movements. Never apply it when it feels too hot, and use it only on intact skin.
Choose the pack for your massage routine
One compress is enough to explore the format. Two or three let you alternate them during a longer routine, while the six-compress pack suits frequent use or a shared massage space. Current prices appear in the selector above.
